Hello ONE CLUB!
The Return 2 Rugby task force met in early April to discuss our Return 2 Rugby (R2R) plan and protocols. We had considered booking the John Abbott field on Wednesday nights to prepare for training, however, we felt that based on the current situation and given the current rise of cases in Quebec that it was not safe for our members to get together for organized club events, including any form of large group training.
In response, our coaches will be offering remote training sessions to enable our members to train “together” on Zoom. Further, coaches plan to coordinate training sessions on Strava including a daily WOD board etc. We are aware that members have been getting together on their own to use the ESG and other outdoor are
as to train. We would like to encourage this to continue but to ensure that activities are completed in groups of five or less (unless members of the same household). Please see Rugby Quebec Guidelines in the infographic below. If you would like access to equipment such as balls, ladders and pop bags please advise stone through direct message or email: silverstonem@videotron.ca
Based on the current vaccine roll-out schedule, we are hoping to have outdoor training start up by the end of June or early July. That being said, we will continue to adapt and be flexible based on the most current COVID recommendations from Rugby Quebec and the Government.
To continue to stay connected, the social committee is planning activities that we can undertake safely (i.e., virtual ATMs). We want to support you in the way that you need this summer so please reach out with any suggestions and feedback!
2020NECLUB is OUR YEAR and we can’t wait to get started!! Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to ONE CLUB values. Please stay safe, fit and hungry for rugby! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at sabrfc.president@gmail.com.
